Sign up for the Autumn COVID booster vaccine

Alongside the regular Autumn Influenza booster campaign, the NHS will be rolling out the Covid booster vaccine for all eligible groups, which are expected to include the groups offered the vaccine in the previous autumn campaign.

The aim of this yearly booster is to increase patients’ immunity against the virus that causes COVID-19. In particular, those belonging to vulnerable groups who would be more likely to suffer serious complications from the virus. This is achieved by allowing the body’s immune system to be primed against the latest circulating variants of the virus by producing antibodies, reducing the chance that you suffer more serious symptoms.

We at Clare Pharmacy expect to be offering the Covid vaccine to eligible individuals, in addition to offering the Flu vaccine, at our two clinics which are located in The Old Goods Shed in Clare and The Health Centre in Haverhill.

The booster campaign for 2024 will commence in October, though the exact date is yet to be confirmed by the Government. In the meantime, Clare Pharmacy is opening waiting lists for both sites for you to register your interest, and when a start date is confirmed we will allow you to book an appointment for the COVID-19 and/or Flu vaccine.
